Meg's Diary

Hey, everybody!

I wasn't going to post another entry this month because I'm super swamped finishing Mediator 6 (yes, it's done…and yes, I think you're all going to love it, though it won't be in stores until January 2005–I know, I'm sorry!) but this is just too big to keep to myself:
Are you ready?

Are you sure?

OK.

Guess who is playing Samantha Madison in the feature film Disney is making of All American Girl?

RAVEN SYMONE!

Yes! The star of Cheetah Girls and That's So Raven! I think she's going to be GREAT and I can't wait to see it…and since they're hoping to start filming soon, maybe we'll even have it in time for the presidential election, which would RULE.

But that's not the only secret I've been keeping (yes, I've kind of known about Raven for awhile, but I wasn't allowed to tell. It was KILLING me!):

I've written a new book (in addition to the ones I've got coming out this year, like Boy Meets Girl and Princess in Pink). It's called Teen Idol, and while I can't tell you much about it (yet) except that it's a new stand-alone alone (ie: there are no princesses or presidents in it–though I won't be held responsible if there happens to be a hot male movie star in it) and that it won't be released in June 2004, I CAN tell you that you can get a sneak peek at the heroine, Jen Greenley, in a short story I've written for a new anthology (collected by James Howe) that will be out in September called Thirteen.

Of course, in the short story (called Kate the Great) Jen's only thirteen, and in Teen Idol, she'll be sixteen. But if you want to meet Jen before Teen Idol comes out, grab a copy of the book Thirteen, and say hello!

For those of you keeping track of my summer travel plans, I had a blast in Indiana, and now I'm relaxing poolside in Maryland (well, not really, since I can't see the screen of my laptop when the sun is beating down on it. But I'm sure I'll get to the pool eventually). Next on the agenda writing-wise is All American Girl 2. I hope you're enjoying Project Princess, Princess Diaries 4 and a half–especially the sneak peak at Princess Diaries 5, Princess in Pink, that's at the end! Don't forget, all of my proceeds from Project Princess's sales goes to build a Girls' Club here in NYC, where there isn't one–so buy copies for all your friends (at $2.99 a copy, it's even affordable)!

And don't forget to set your Tivos or VCRs to the Lifetime Channel Saturday nights at 10PM (EST) starting this weekend (Aug 2) for 1-800-Missing, the show based on my series 1-800-Where-R-U. I've heard some major hotties will be introduced (love interest for Jess??? Rob perhaps???) in the upcoming episodes, so stay tuned!

That's it for now. Thanks for reading–and have a great rest of your summer!

Much love,

Meg
